A funeral ceremony honoring the life of Dakota Lee Rex (D-Rex) will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Claremore First Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore. Dakota passed early Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was a 22 year ”young” man with the passion of Jesus in his heart that always knew Jesus would meet you where you are at in life.
Born October 7, 1994 in Claremore OK, to Stacy McMillen and Troy Rex. He attended Claremore Schools, where he played football and baseball, and was a 2013 graduate of Claremore High School. Dakota was enrolled to start the Summer 2017 at RSU as a second semester “freshman”.
Family and friends knew him as a happy kid who lived life to the fullest, often leaving his body scraped and bruised and in need of stitches. He always had a smile on his face, and was very quick to give a compliment.
He loved to quote his favorite movies and TV shows. He always enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing video games, guitar, and pranks on his friends/family. He was a talented pool player, often surprising more experienced players with his skill, and winning a few tournaments playing with his father.
Dakota was a Christian and attended various youth groups in the Claremore area. He was always ministering to his friends and family. His passion was making sure that his friends were “on the right path”. He is remembered by his friends as always trying to “save people” and was a HERO to many, up until his dying day. He will be missed by family and friends tremendously!!!
