Jim retired and moved to Claremore in 1983 to be nearer his family. He loved his family dearly, enjoyed bowling, and served as a deacon for many years in the Christian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by loving wife of over fifty years, Ruth Thomas. Surviving family members include his children: Ruthanne Thomas King and husband Rick, Gail Thomas Ohman and husband Clem, Jim Thomas Jr. and wife Sheryl, and Nancy Thomas Jaubert and husband Don; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, on behalf of Jim, the family requests that you do a simple random act of kindness such as buying a veteran a meal, volunteering your time, or donating to a good cause. Such an act could very easily be life changing to both the giver and receiver.
