Services honoring and remembering Gregory Keith Addington “Greg” will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 14, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Catoosa with Rev. Donald Hogue, Jr. officiating. A private interment will follow in the Hamby Family Cemetery near Jay, Oklahoma. Greg passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 11, 2017 at his home in Catoosa. He was 53.
Born November 7, 1963 in Tulsa, Greg was the son of Donnie Jean and Sheilda Robison Addington. Greg was very athletic while growing up in Catoosa where he played baseball and football. He loved bull riding, riding dirt bikes competitively, and boating on Grand Lake. He graduated with the Catoosa High School Class of 1982.
Following high school, Greg attended Northeastern State and Rogers State Universities. He became an electrician and taught electrical classes for several years. Greg earned his college degree in Business Administration. He worked as an electrician until he suffered a debilitating stroke in 2001. Greg loved his service dog, Murphy. She was extremely loyal companion and always obedient to Greg.
Surviving family members include his mother Sheilda Conley; his sisters: Sonja Redding and husband Bo, and Doniece Burns and husband Mitch; his niece Monica McConnell; his nephew Dustin Redding; two great nephews: Kaden Redding and Odin McConnell; his great niece Kenna Redding; and numerous loving Addington family members and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather Curtis Conley; and his grandparents: Lee and Gladys Addington; and Tommy and Virginia Robison.
