Born in Wichita, Kan., on June 17, 1967 to Charles and Shirley (Young) Ingmire, Julie grew up in Claremore and graduated from Sequoyah High School in 1985. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Media from OU and then began a 21-year career with Pizza Hut. She also worked for a time at Clinton Middle School as an office clerk.
Though Julie possessed a quick wit and slightly sarcastic sense of humor, they were just a cover for her sweet and tender heart. She loved to know everybody’s business, but only for the purpose of finding a way to help; she was the first to suggest fund-raising events for families facing difficulties and helped innumerable individuals through the generosity of Pizza Hut customers. She was an avid music lover, particularly of the big-haired ‘80’s bands, but was also a fan of more current artists such as Keith Urban. She enjoyed concerts, musicals, plays and singing karaoke-style. She was an accomplished artist specializing in pastels and charcoal sketches. A compassionate caregiver for her mother and brother, Mike, Julie also opened her home and heart to a long list of pets, both cats and dogs.
Beloved sister, aunt, godmother and life-long friend, Julie is survived by her siblings, Raylene Ingmire and Terry Ingmire, both of Claremore; her nephew Daniel Ryan Ingmire of Ridgeland, Mississippi; her godchild, Shaelyn Godwin of Oklahoma City; dear friends, Maribeth Garrett, Gina Silsby, Angela Valentine, Brenda Biggs, and Roger Francis. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Mike and Mark and husband of 15 years, Rex Underwood.
